Below you will find scholarships that can be applied specifically to CGIS programs if you are an eligible LSA student. Please note that CGIS does not facilitate these scholarships, however, our advisors are able to walk you through the application process.
The Office of Financial Aid
Consult the Office of Financial Aid Study Abroad Team (finaid.abroad@umich.edu) about how studying abroad could impact your eligibility for financial aid and how much you'd be eligible for. A variety of funding sources are available to help CGIS students cover program-related expenses, however, eligibility depends on your program and your unique financial situation. To get an idea of the type of funding you can expect to receive from financial aid, fill out this study abroad estimate worksheet and send it, plus your umich ID number, to finaid.abroad@umich.edu along with any other questions or concerns that you may have!
The LSA Study Abroad Scholarship
The LSA Scholarship Office works with CGIS to ensure that students who are in good academic standing and in financial need can apply for the LSA Study Abroad Scholarship. Over 95% of eligible LSA applicants receive an LSA Study Abroad Scholarship ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Scholarships are granted based on financial need and may only be applied to one program per spring/summer period. The deadline to apply for the LSA Study Abroad Scholarship varies by program type.
