Best Eats in the Area: La Brocherie serves the absolute best meat-dishes in town. Note: you WILL need a reservation.
Favorite Local Activity: Hiking up Mt. St. Victoire.
Where to Study: Upper level of Le Festival. Always super quiet! Has comfortable seating too!
Must-Try Local Dish: Calisson ice cream (you can find it on the dessert menu at La Brocherie!)
Best Photo Op: Place de l'Hôtel de Ville during the flower market on a day with clear skies.
Your Biggest Fail: Finding the hiking trail to Mt. St. Victoire... Make sure to do your research if you intend on attempting.
Buy This: Food! Before the end of your stay, invest in French cheese, macarons, calissons, lavender-flavored items, etc... They're delicious and unique to the region/country.
Not That: Anything from an Aix/Provence-themed gift shop.
Most Interesting Class: Art classes! As tiring as it is to walk 30-45 minutes and trek up a few small hills to get to the art studio, Marchutz makes for the best classes.
Best Part of the Program: Delicious food anywhere you go! If you dislike a meal, it'll never be because of the quality.
Unforgettable Weekend Trips: Nice and Cassis are two great places to visit and are easy to travel to from Aix. Or really, anywhere along the coast.
Bonus Pro Tip/s: Look into George trips to stay on a budget. He does day trips to the surrounding areas for as little as 30-40€.
