U-M archaeology graduate student Zhaneta Gjyshja stands in the center of the remains of a small house in Vrella, Kosova, surrounded by a field of corn. The crumbled foundations of the house, made of clay and wood, date to the Late Neolithic.

Gjyshja and her U-M team are working in collaboration with the Institute of Archaeology of Kosova to excavate at the archaeological site of Lluga. Finding the house is precisely what she hoped for: the goal of the project is to locate domestic areas and understand more about the activities that took place there.
