Please join us for an online Museums at Noon presentation on Friday, December 2, at 12 p.m. In the presentation, Digitizing the Dodo: Three-Dimensional Digitization for Research and Public Outreach at the Oxford University Museum of Natural History, Taylor West, a U-M PhD candidate in ecology and evolutionary biology, will discuss her work with the museum on a large redisplay project. She traveled to Oxford University for her U-M Museum Studies practicum to digitize new displays, using structured light scanning technology to create interactive, 3-D models of the objects located within 20 new exhibits in the main court of the Museum. This project aims to improve public access to the OUMNH museum space and begin a digital collection for researchers at Oxford University and beyond.
