More than six million people have visited the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture since it opened in September 2016.

On Tuesday, October 22, William S. Pretzer, senior curator of history at the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture, will speak on “The Unvarnished Truth,” and give an illustrated tour of the inaugural exhibitions at the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The museum has had more than six million visitors since opening three years ago. 7 p.m., Helmut Stern Auditorium, University of Michigan Museum of Art. The event is free and open to the public.
