The Michigan Anthropology Colloquia Series presents an online lecture by Davina Two Bears, PhD (Diné), visiting assistant professor of anthropology and post doctoral fellow at Swarthmore College, on Friday, February 18,2022 at 3 p.m. EST.

In her presentation on Indian boarding schools and indigenous archaeology, Dr. Two Bears will discuss her research on the Old Leupp Boarding School historic site and recent research on Federal Indian boarding schools by both Native and non-Native archaeologists. She notes that recent nationwide interest in Indian boarding schools and the resultant ongoing historical trauma was instigated by the finding of 200 unmarked graves of Indigenous children at the Kamloops Residential School in British Columbia, Canada.
