The UMMAA Brown Bag Lecture Series is pleased to present a lecture by Bruce Worden, scientific illustrator/artist at UMMAA and the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. His lecture, "Creating Figures for Scientific Publications, From A to Z," will be held on Friday, November 22, 12:00-1:00pm p.m. in the School of Education Building, Room 1322.

Creating a figure for your latest groundbreaking scientific publication requires you to take every step from A to Z. You can't skip a single one. But you can bring in someone to help! You will likely work with an illustrator or designer at some point to help communicate your research to a wider audience. This talk will address the main steps you can expect to encounter on your figure-creation journey, and how to stay on track along the way.

There are numerous paths that will take you from ideation to a completed figure, but not all paths are created equal. How do you decide which way to go? How can you most effectively and efficiently work with an artist who is charging you by the hour? This talk is your roadmap.

The Museum's Brown Bag Lecture Series is free and open to the public.
