The History of Art will host a celebration of U-M professor Bryan Miller's new book, Xiongnu:The World's First Nomadic Empire (Oxford University Press), on Friday, September 27, 4:30 - 6:30 PM in West Hall, Room 411.

A presentation will be followed by a short discussion and reception.

Xiongnu raises the case of the world's first nomadic empire as a prime example of the sophisticated developments and powerful influence of nomadic regimes by weaving together archaeological examinations with historical investigations.
