Where did you transfer from? Grand Rapids Community College

Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? I chose to transfer here because I knew it would set me up for success in my future career.

Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? Calm down, everything that is happening is going to work out in your favor. Everything that happens happens for a reason. It will ALL work out. 

How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? I met my friends through my housing program, classes and joining extracurricular activities. 

What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? My favorite part about being an LSA transfer is knowing I am never alone. If I ever needed advice or maybe just someone to talk to, there's an office right there waiting to help me out.

What do you know now that you wish you’d known before transferring to the University of Michigan? I wish I would’ve known my process was going to work out. Filing my financial aid paperwork was extremely difficult, and there were so many times I wanted to just throw the bag in and quit. I stayed on track and it all worked out. 

Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I choose to major in Communications and Media because I enjoy being able to effectively communicate with the masses.
