Where did you transfer from? Macomb Community College
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? I chose to transfer to the University of Michigan because of the amazing opportunities within the school. Additionally, I learned about the Go Blue Guarantee, which was immensely helpful in my situation.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? Go out and explore! Try to step out of your comfort zone and do things you normally would not do. We have tons of clubs and organizations on campus, so there is a community for everybody here. Also, meet with your advisor regularly. It is their job to help you!
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? I met friends and other students on campus by attending transfer specific events and keeping in touch with them. I also try to talk and engage with people in class.
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? My favorite part about being an LSA transfer student is the supportive community that comes with it. Transferring to a new school can be nerve wracking, but the transfer community within LSA provides you with the resources and support you need in order to succeed and adjust properly.
What do you know now that you wish you’d known before transferring to the University of Michigan? I wish I knew about the benefits that come with being a student at UofM! We get things like free printing services, discounts on lyft rides, and there’s always some sort of pop up on campus with freebies.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I chose Political Science as my major because I am passionate about advocating for others and having broad representation in our government.
