Where did you transfer from? University of Michigan-Dearborn

Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? The University of Michigan is a great institute for students who want to pursue psychology. Being at the Dearborn campus has given me the spirit of being a true Wolverine. However, transferring to the Ann Arbor campus allows me to pursue my dreams by being present at the hub of psychological advancement. Ann Arbor has fantastic research facilities that complement my interests and give me a strong background in research work. The campus offers courses and classes that are more connected to my interest and weave me into the psychological research atmosphere in a coherent manner. 

Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? UMich is known to have resources that cater to everyone's interests. The one thing I would share with all transfer students is to be on the lookout for events in which you can involve yourself into a group of people just like yourself. Moreover, it is easy to find these events as they are being held by a variety of centers or departments. 

How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? Attending events and socializing with people in my classes. Your classes are a great reflection of who you are as a person and who you want to become; hence, making friends in class gives you a great common ground to start on. 

What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? To have such a smooth transition into a new environment! 

What do you know now that you wished you knew before transferring to the University of Michigan? Credit transferring process is simpler than you would expect! Most credits of your prior courses translate into your audits, and in the case that they do not properly translate, you can always file an appeal. 

Why did you choose your specific major(s)? As a child, I always saw similar traits in people that varied in terms of levels. This made me interested in the quantification of personality and how it can be achieved. And now, I am on my quest to find out if something as abstract as personality can be psychologically understood and easily presented.
