Major: Communications and Media & Political Science
Hometown: Southfield, Michigan
Where did you transfer from? Western Michigan University
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan? I chose to transfer to the University of Michigan because it is a school with an amazing number of opportunities and a place among the student body for everyone!
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students? To not be afraid to try new things! There’s so many opportunities here on campus, it would be a disservice to yourself not to try as many as you like!
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus? Through joining clubs and attending campus events such as Transfer Student Welcome and Festifall!
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student? There is so much support and community in being an LSA transfer student! Whenever you need help, there’s so many people that are there for you and willing to guide you in your experience.
What do you know now that you wish you’d known before transferring to the University of Michigan? I wish I would have known the number of resources that were at my fingertips. Going to an information session about anything you’re curious about can help with this!
Why did you choose your specific major(s)? I chose communications because I wanted to hone my skills of public speaking and my understanding of the general media, and I paired this with political science because media is inherently political, and public speaking skills will aid me well when pursuing law!
