Brief bio:
I am a multimedia artist and visual sociologist. I study Black life, history, and culture. I am also a vegan health advocate. I identify as a non-traditional student. I am a first-generation, LGBTQ+ college student. I am a student researcher for SOUL and am a mentor/ambassador at the Transfer Student Center.
Why did you choose to transfer to the University of Michigan?
I chose the University of Michigan to continue my education because my tuition is covered by the Go Blue Guarantee.
Based on your personal experience, what is the one thing you want to tell new transfer students?
There are endless opportunities to make new friends and connections on and off campus here!
How did you make friends and meet other students on campus?
I made friends at the Transfer Center and other events for transfer and non-traditional students.
What is your favorite part about being an LSA transfer student?
I love the friendly squirrels around campus. I feed them sunflower seeds sometimes, and they love it.
What do you know now that you wished you knew before transferring to the University of Michigan?
When you transfer, you are considered an undeclared major and minor. You have to declare your major/minor on your own, but it is very easy! It usually only takes a couple of emails.
Why did you choose your specific major(s)?
I study Black history, life, and culture to share with the public to increase awareness of Black people's incredibly meaningful and necessary contributions to our society.
