        With rapid theoretical progress in QCD ongoing since the mid-1990s, experiment and theory have been pushing forward hand-in-hand, with theoretical advances allowing more and more to be learned from the wealth of experimental data, while novel experimental results in turn inspire new theoretical ideas. As various subfields in QCD have advanced and evolved, new questions and directions have arisen at the frontiers, and some research areas that were once disparate have started to converge. Recent results focusing on quark and gluon spin-spin and spin-momentum correlations in QCD bound states and in the process of bound state formation will be discussed.
