In September 1927, George Uhlenbeck and his colleague Samuel Goudsmit arrived to join David Dennison and Otto Laporte as instructors of physics at the University of Michigan. These four young men brought an explosive growth of physics at Michigan. Professor Ford will talk about the people and the times.
