About
The most remarkable aspect of a liberal arts degree is the opportunity for exploration. Coming in as an undeclared student in LSA, I recognize that some may find the uncertainty to be daunting, but the more valuable part of being an undeclared student (or any student in LSA) is the freedom to explore courses in various areas of the Literature, Science, and Arts curriculum. A liberal arts education supports one's academic, professional, and personal development while shaping one's values.
For students in LSA, I would advise you to remember that everyone takes their own journey and carves their own path—nothing will be perfect. Don’t compare yourself to others, and make sure to take care of yourself; your mind and body are equally important. Although some people may have it all planned out, it is normal and okay not to. You will make the most of your time at U-M by doing the things that matter to YOU.
