A Word from the Managing Director
Amber Strickland, Managing Director of the LSA Opportunity Hub, Career Exploration and Engagement
Dear Friends and Supporters of the LSA Opportunity Hub,
As I reflect on the last five years, I am filled with deep gratitude for the opportunity to lead the LSA Opportunity Hub from July 2024 and for the shared commitment of our partners, supporters, and campus community. Since releasing our first Impact Report five years ago, the Hub has continued to evolve into a truly transformative resource for our students, strengthening the bridge between a liberal arts and sciences education and meaningful career pathways.
When I joined in 2021 as the inaugural Director of Employer Engagement, the Hub was transitioning back to in-person operations, and the excitement to engage with students post-pandemic was palpable! Since then, we have focused on scaling our efforts and expanding our reach to students. Our employer engagement programming has grown significantly, deepening relationships with organizations that believe in the power of liberal arts talent and seek to harness it in the workplace. Outcomes from 2024 LSA Graduates
The First Destination Survey (FDS) collects career outcomes data from LSA graduates within the first 6 months after their graduation.
Placement Rate
Over 75% of 2024 LSA graduates accepted job offers or went on to pursue graduate school.
Other outcomes refers to graduates who are still actively searching for employment opportunities or continued education, are not currently seeking, or are pursuing military service.
Top Industries for 2024 Employed LSA Graduates
The top industries for employed graduates include finance, healthcare, technology, consulting and people development, and education and social services.
Top Locations of 2024 Employed LSA Graduates
Almost half of employed graduates seek and/or find employment in NYC, Ann Arbor, Chicago, Boston, and D.C.
Top Fields of Study for 2024 LSA Graduates who continue their education
Of the percentage of 2024 LSA grads that went on to continue their education, about 40% of them are studying one of these 5 fields: medicine, law, social work, business, or computer science, with dentistry and public health not far behind.
