What are we looking for in a Treasurer?
Treasurer applicants should be organized, reliable, and detail-oriented, with a strong interest in financial responsibility and student advocacy. The most prefered applicant would be one that is very serious about committing to this role. No prior experience with managing budgets is required, though strongly preferred. All LSA Students are welcome to apply!
We are looking for individuals who are ready to:
- Take responsibility for managing LSA SG’s $20,000 per semester budget
- Ensure transparency in the disbursement of funds to student organizations
- Monitor and track financial assets consistently
- Prepare annual budgets and financial reports
- Attend funding meetings to support fair allocations for all student groups
Commitment & Responsibilities
Treasurer responsibilities include:
- Managing and disbursing funds approved by LSA Student Government
- Preparing and presenting budget and financial reports to the Government
- Attending funding meetings with the Budget Allocations Committee and E-Board meetings
- Supporting student organizations by ensuring fair and equitable funding practices
- Expected ~4-6 hours/week commitment. Additional time may be needed around funding cycles or budget deadlines.
- This position is expected to be your main commitment among your student organization extracurriculars, given the importance of the position and the real financial impact you would have on student organization funding.
