Purpose
One of LSA SG’s primary goals is to make the Wolverine Experience available to all students by providing funding to Student Organizations. The Budget Allocations Committee accomplishes this by reviewing funding applications and rewarding funding to student organizations based on their impact on the LSA student body.
(NEW) Student Organization Grants
Starting Winter 2026, BAC will fund student organizations created this semester up to $100! This grant is intended to support student organizations with costs associated with launch, including but not limited to room rentals and advertising.
Student Organization Funding Requests Information
Who can apply?
Most student organizations are eligible for BAC funding. Preference will be given to those that impact a large number of LSA students and support LSA SG’s mission. Please see the BAC Operating Procedures for exceptions.
What can be funded?
Please see BAC Operating Procedures.
When can I apply?
Applications are open all semester until the form closes!
How much can I apply for?
In W26, Student Organizations can be reimbursed for up to $500.
How Our Reimbursement System Works
In order to receive the maximum possible funding, RSO must fully understand BAC’s funding criteria.
Submit a Budget Application
All RSOs must submit a detailed budget request outlining expected event costs. Applications may be sent until the form is closed at the end of the semester.
BAC Reviews & Approves Funding
Our committee evaluates each request and allocates funding based on LSA-SG BAC Operating Procedures. Approvals are typically made at the following Tuesday BAC meeting and never past the second following BAC meeting.
LSA SG Votes
The LSA SG General Assembly has the final say on all BAC funding approvals.
Hold Your Event & Gather Critical Documentation
After your event, collect all itemized receipts associated with the approved budget, proof of following sustainability criteria, proof of following publication requirements, attendance, and pictures of the event.
(IMPORTANT) Submit Reimbursement Receipts and Reflection Form for Reimbursement
In order to receive reimbursement, please attach your receipts, photos/documentation, and reflection form to your original application. You must collect attendance, documentation of following LSA publication requirements, and sustainability (if applicable) requirements. This information is due no later than two weeks after your event takes place.
Appeals
If your funding request is denied and you would like to submit an appeal, fill out the Appeals Form.
