Summer represents and articulates the value and benefits of a U-M Liberal arts education to prospective students at numerous virtual and in-person college fairs, high school visits, and programs in Michigan and targeted states. She also develops, plans, and implements on-campus visits and events for prospective and admitted students. In addition to recruitment, she oversees and manages the LSA First-Year Student Ambassador team, which presents at twenty-four Campus Day Information sessions and other recruitment-related events.
Summer received her Bachelor’s in General Studies with concentrations in Middle Eastern Studies, Ethnic and Religious Studies, and American Culture at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor. As a first-generation Palestinian American Muslim from a low-income background, she is passionate about supporting historically marginalized populations and equipping her LSA Ambassadors with resources to navigate college successfully. Before this position, Summer served one year as an Assistant Manager at Michigan Dining. She earned the Diversity and Inclusion Award for her dedication to supporting immigrant and underrepresented staff at South Quad Dining.
