Laura is currently an adjunct professor in the field of social entrepreneurship at USC Marshall and President of the Fox Family Foundation. Previously, she worked in the entertainment industry, where she was responsible for overseeing business and legal affairs for the DreamWorks SKG movie division and was Vice President of Legal Affairs for Walt Disney Pictures and Touchstone Pictures. She serves on a number of nonprofit boards, including P.S. Arts, City Year Los Angeles, Civicas and Visionary Women, and several advisory councils including Human Rights Watch Los Angeles Committee and Common Sense Media Los Angeles Advisory Council.
She received a B.A. in political science and psychology from the University of Michigan in 1984, and a J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School in 1987. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband Ben Vandebunt, and is the parent of two daughters, Ali Vandebunt and Kate Vandebunt (U-M class of ’25).
In addition to the occasional Zingerman's lunches, I appreciate the opportunity to engage with faculty and other dedicated alumni to support one of the world's great public universities. My education at U-M created a fantastic foundation for my career, and I'm proud to help make that experience available to new generations of students.
