Senior Advisor, Kohlberg & Co.

Ms. Brennan is an accomplished executive, strategic leader, creative chief revenue officer and experienced board member. She has held a number of leadership and advisory roles at several global financial institutions and investment firms including: The Carlyle Group, Kohlberg & Co., Commonfund, Onex, and Credit Suisse. Ms. Brennan currently serves as Senior Advisor at Kohlberg & Co. where she previously was Partner and Head of Strategy and Investor Relations. 


Ms. Brennan serves as an independent board member of Commonfund, a $28 billion OCIO and asset management firm. Ms. Brennan also serves on the following non-corporate boards: Executive Board for the Wharton Graduate School, the University of Pennsylvania; Women’s Leadership Board, Harvard Kennedy School, Women and Public Policy Center; and the Dean’s Advisory Council, the University of Michigan’s College of Literature, Science, and the Arts. 


Over her 20+ year career, Ms. Brennan has raised billions of dollars annually with some notable career-highs and an energy and passion for finding creative ways to achieve growth in fast-changing markets and through creative new product expansion. She has a deep understanding of best practices in operations management. The leading investment management firms where she has worked aspired to grow quickly and needed the existing organization to evolve quickly to support accelerated growth. 


She is a frequent speaker at industry conferences including recent topics covering operations management best practices, AI applications in private equity, co-investing and insurance related topics. She has also been invited to be a featured speaker at company off-sites such as Liberty Mutual’s Managing Director off-site and The Carlyle Group’s Senior Leadership conference. 


A generous coach and mentor, she enjoys managing teams and is extremely fulfilled by fostering collaboration. Ms. Brennan holds an MBA in Finance from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and an AB in Economics and Literature from the University of Michigan.
