In March 2002, David, along with two other principals from William Blair & Company, founded an independent marketing firm, AMD Capital, in Chicago. AMD works with investment firms from around the world who manage money in a variety of investment disciplines, including traditional asset classes (long-only stock and bond managers), hedge funds and private equity. The focus of the asset gathering efforts is to investment consultants, large plan sponsors (i.e. endowments, foundations and corporate pension plans), large family offices and other investment intermediaries. In addition, AMD assists their investment firms in educating the investing clients on current portfolio positioning, as well as informing these clients of market conditions and the effect these conditions have on their portfolio.
In 1995, he began his career in the investment industry with William Blair & Company, in Chicago. There, David was responsible for marketing and sales of the firm's investment products within the Investment Management division. In 1999, David became a principal in the firm.
David earned his MBA from Northwestern University's Kellogg School of Management, majoring in finance and marketing. David and his wife, Carolyn, live in Northbrook, IL and have three grown children. David has been involved in various volunteer positions including C 24/7 in Chicago and the Western Golf Association.
David’s LSA education has been instrumental throughout his career. He has held various positions and having had a well-rounded undergraduate education has proven to be extremely valuable in his career.
I think it is important to give back to the school and its students where I received my foundation for so much in my life. I believe I can offer something positive to the school and students that provided me so much.
