A.B. History, 1976; JD ’79Corporate and non-profit board member
Bev currently serves on the boards of Rolls-Royce plc and Xenia Hotels & Resorts and previously was on the board of Atlas Air Worldwide. She spent 24 years at American Airlines, including stints as Treasurer, as Chief Restructuring Officer, leading American’s successful reorganization in Chapter 11, and as Executive Vice President and Chief Integration Officer, when she led the integration of American Airlines and US Airways following their merger in 2013. Prior to joining American, and after earning a J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, Bev spent 13 years in private practice in Dallas, Texas, focusing on corporate and securities law and mergers and acquisitions.
Bev chaired the board of the American Airlines Federal Credit Union for a number of years and is actively involved with a number of other non-profit organizations, focused primarily on education and women and children, including the Texas Women’s Foundation and Cristo Rey Dallas High School.
Bev’s primary residence is in Dallas, but she realized several years ago that the Leelanau Peninsula is a much better place to spend the summer, so look for her in Northport that time of year.
I treasure the time I spent at the University of Michigan and am grateful for the education I received and the worldview it helped me form. I’m eager to work with others to find ways to make that same opportunity available to others, especially those whose path may not be as straightforward and obvious as mine was.
