Lecture: "Reviving Karanis in 3D"

Thursday, May 29, 2014
12:00 AM
Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, 434 South State, Ann Arbor

This lecture presents the first results of the Reviving Karanis research project, which uses digital technologies to reunite archaeological artifacts from the Greco-Roman town of Karanis, Egypt. Today these finds are located in different museums worldwide. The artifacts will be contextualized into a virtual model of the original environment, into an interactive digital display in the museums, and will be available online.
