Last November Amanda Severs and Tyler Mayo discovered among the Michigan papyri two unknown letters which are probably by the philosopher Epicurus (341-270 BCE). Since they are damaged, it seems wise to try to figure out exactly what the letters say before this news goes public. A seminar using collective brainstorming is often the best way to do this. Images and draft texts will be supplied (and will be gathered in at the end). Promising supplements advanced by participants will of course be credited to their authors when the texts are published.
