Monday, April 29, 2013
4:00 AM
Hatcher Graduate Library, Gallery Room 100

Constantine P. Cavafy (b. April 29, 1863, d. April 29, 1933) is the most important Greek poet since antiquity and one of the greatest modern poets.  On April 29, 2013, we are celebrating the 150th anniversary of Cavafy's birth and the 80th anniversary of his death with an open mic event. Come and make your own contribution to the celebration.

We invite everyone on campus and in the broader community to participate or simply attend this once-in-a-lifetime occasion:
Read a Cavafy poem you love in any language.
Speak about your encounter with Cavafy.
Discuss a work.
Give a personal testimony.
Play or sing a song.
Bring a drawing.
Listen and enjoy the occasion.
Browse an exhibit of Cavafy books.
Share in the Greek delicacies available throughout the event.
