Ryland Lambert is a 2nd-year Pre-Candidate of the Department of Anthropology's doctoral program in Biological Anthropology and is a Rackham Merit Fellow. His current research focuses on the relationship between the human skeletal and endocrine systems under the guidance of Dr. Jacinta Beehner and Dr. Maureen Devlin as a member of the Skeletal Biology Laboratory. His disseration will focus on the bone morphology of gender-diverse individuals and the structural changes that occur through Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy (GAHT), with aims to increase our understanding of transgender bodies and expand the available literature regarding trans healthcare. Lastly, Ryland is a proud alumnus of the Eastern Michigan University-Ronald E. McNair Scholars Program, which supported him through his academic journey and provided him with the opportunity to publish his first research article- "The Impact of Hormone Therapy on the Clavicle," advised by Dr. Megan K. Moore.
