About
What is your advising Philosophy?
I believe in taking a holistic approach to advising. Students are more than just how they perform academically. Their physical, emotional/mental, and social health are also imperative to their overall success. Students all have different needs, and it is important to listen and respond to their individual, unique experiences.
What was your path to Newnan?
I am a double Wolverine, and have worked in several different departments during my time at the university. I worked in the Lawyer's Club dining hall in undergrad, I was an intern with Wolverine Wellness as well as a graduate student instructor, and became a Program Coordinator assistant with Wolverine Pathways after graduating with my Master's degree. I wanted to continue my journey and growth while working in higher education and now have the wonderful opportunity to work in Newnan.
Why did you join Newnan?
When I was a student, I had a lot of people that supported and guided me. I had various advisors and instructors that truly had my best interest in mind and helped me through my educational career. I want to be able to pay it forward and extend the same kind of advice, encouragement, and empathy that I received when I needed it most.
Class you loved and why?
I took a class called Religion in the Making of African America and I really liked it because it was very unique. It explained historical events in a new lens and the professor was very fun, engaging, and thought provoking.
