About

What is your advising philosophy?

My advising philosophy is rooted in the belief that every student is unique and has their own individual journey in higher education. I strive to meet students where they are mentally, understanding their strengths, weaknesses, and aspirations. By doing so, I seek to provide personalized guidance and support to help them navigate their educational pathway to success.

What was your path to Newnan?

I arrived at the Newnan Academic Advising Center equipped with ten years of practical hands-on advising experience. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of serving at multiple institutions, working closely with students as they embark on their academic journey, assisting them as they explored various subjects and majors to providing professional advice to those primarily seeking guidance in the field of Health Sciences. I have gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise in these areas providing advising and I am eager to aid in the development of students within the College of Literature, Science and Arts.

Why did you join Newnan?

I joined the Newnan Academic Advising Center with the purpose of serving and advising students within the College of Literature, Science, and Arts. Being a part of this center allows me to use my knowledge and expertise to help students navigate their academic journey effectively.

Class you loved and why?

My favorite course during undergrad was jazz appreciation. This course provided me with a unique opportunity to delve into the intricacies of jazz music, allowing me to develop a deeper understanding of its melodic nuances and musical structure. Through this course, I was exposed to a wide range of musical ensembles, which are often overlooked or underappreciated elements within jazz compositions. Additionally, the course emphasized the importance of musical organization in jazz, highlighting how musicians use collaboration and improvisation within a structured framework.

Interests and hobbies:

I have a deep passion for photography, traveling, and listening to music from a wide range of genres.
