About

What is your advising philosophy?

I like to take a holistic, student-centered approach when meeting with my students. I understand that there is no one size fits all approach to advising. I like to meet my students where they are at and tailor the approach to best fit their needs.

What was your path to Newnan?

I graduated in 2018 with my bachelor’s in Psychology from East Carolina University. During my undergraduate career, I worked as an academic mentor and tutor. After graduating I worked as an Administrative Support Associate at a learning center at East Carolina University for three years. This experience grew my passion for helping students succeed, leading me to work as a Success Coach at the University of Toledo for two years before starting my journey at Newnan.

Why did you join Newnan?

Beyond aligning with my passion for helping LSA students, Newnan and UofM overall felt like home with their inclusiveness and welcoming staff.

Class you loved and why?

A course I loved during undergrad was my cognitive psychology course. I loved this course because it was one of the most challenging courses I took as a psychology major. To overcome the challenges of the course, I created study groups with my classmates to better learn and understand the material. I also really enjoyed how this course taught me how our brain works and how individuals learn best, knowledge that I have applied in supporting students.

Interests and hobbies:

CrossFit, Hiking, Playing board games.
