About
What is your advising Philosophy?
To work alongside students educating them on their program and navigating the university successfully. To encourage them to engage with their education and make the most of it.
What was your path to Newnan?
I got my Masters in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Eastern Michigan University, I then went on to Madonna University and worked there for a few years as an Advisor then as the Director of First Year Experience. I learned a lot during those years that taught me so much about how to engage students with all aspects of the university so that they can be successful in their academic career and beyond. I later went back to Eastern as an Advisor in their College of Health and Human Services working with a lot of different health service majors. I enjoyed working there, getting to learn another universities style for supporting students before making the decision to continue to grow as a professional and move on to Newnan to be an advisor within their advising team.
Why did you join Newnan?
I wanted to work with a collaborative team that can help one another grow and be the best support system for students.
Class you loved and why?
History of the Celts. It was a class I had when I studied abroad in Ireland and loved the enthusiasm of the instructor's teaching style and their overall love for Irish history. It was a really deep look into a thousand years of Irish history but told in such a captivating way that it made every lecture enjoyable. Their love of the subject made the class for me.
Interests and Hobbies
I enjoy gardening, being outdoors, camping, crocheting and reading.
