About
Hello! My name is Luka, and I am a junior dual-majoring in Mathematics and Statistics, pursuing an Honors Major in both. I plan to pursue a PhD in either Applied Mathematics or Statistics, with a focus on stochastic and time series modeling on the theoretical side, with applications to meteorology, economics, and medicine. My current research focuses on the asymptotic optimization of treatment cutoff thresholds, and I participated in the Honors Summer Fellowship program in 2025 to pursue this research as part of my eventual Honors Thesis. Additionally, I conduct research on the climatic side, working on two projects. One analyzes the projected increase in unprecedented precipitation events and dives into the disproportionate impacts of these events, and the other aims to build a theoretical framework for a Machine Learning Model to enhance the prediction and forecasting of tornado outbreaks.
