Steve Diamond is a Retired Partner at Arnold & Porter in Washington DC. His career spanned more than 40 years and encompassed all facets of government contracts law, including mergers and acquisitions and capital markets transactions involving government contractors; defense in government audits, investigations, and enforcement actions; bid protest and claims litigation; subcontracts disputes; commercial arbitration; suspension and debarment proceedings; joint ventures, teaming and subcontracting; classified contracts; representation before the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS); FMS and FMF contracts; international and World Bank procurement matters, securing and protecting intellectual property rights and technology licensing; and development of corporate compliance programs. He has represented US and non-US firms, from start-ups to FORTUNE 10 companies, dedicated government contractors and commercial companies, as well as U.S. and foreign government entities.
Mr. Diamond’s practice covered a broad range of industries, including aerospace and defense; professional and technical services; pharmaceuticals; biotech; healthcare; medical device and equipment; information technology; telecommunications; finance; transportation; and consumer products. He has lectured at numerous companies and industry conferences on government contracting, regulatory compliance, and mergers and acquisitions. He also has an active pro bono practice, including representation of major international NGOs and non-profits.
Mr. Diamond earned his B.A. (1978) and J.D. (1981) degrees at the University of Michigan. He also attended Stanford Law School. In addition to the HAC, Mr. Diamond has been a member of the Political Science Department Advisory Board and serves on the LSA Dean’s Advisory Council.
