Last December, businessman and U-M alum Steve Klinsky gifted $1.15 million to the University of Michigan’s Kelsey Museum of Archaeology and Museum of Anthropological Archaeology. The goal? To establish a series of archaeological digs drawn from the groundbreaking research that U-M faculty and students are conducting around the world, as well as to create new educational programming for K–12 audiences based around these projects.

At this presentation and panel discussion, you will hear from LSA faculty members who lead the five Klinsky-funded expeditions. They’ll discuss their projects’ backgrounds, their proposed goals for the upcoming field season and academic year, and why their work matters. (Read more about the Klinsky gift and the expedition projects here: https://lsa.umich.edu/kelsey/news-events/all-news/search-news/klinsky-gift.html.)

This free, public event will take place in the Hussey Room, located on the second floor of the Michigan League (911 N. University Avenue, Ann Arbor, MI 48104). Cocktails and light fare will be served from 5:30 to 6:15 PM, followed by the lecture.

If you have any questions or concerns regarding accessing this event, please visit our accessibility page at https://myumi.ch/zwPkd or contact the education office by calling (734) 647-4167. We ask for advance notice as some accommodations may require more time for the university to arrange.
