The University of Michigan Archaeology Club is excited to host Dr. William Parkinson for a workshop on navigating careers in both professional and academic anthropology. The workshop will include a formal presentation on his experiences, insights from his work at the museum, and advice from both career paths.

Dr. Parkinson, an alumnus of the University of Michigan, is currently a curator and associate director of anthropology at the Field Museum, as well as a professor at the University of Illinois Chicago. His research focuses on European and Eastern Mediterranean prehistory, with extensive fieldwork in Hungary, Bulgaria, and Greece, exploring the social dynamics of early village societies and the development of early states.
