About
Professor Sih is investigating electron and nuclear spin polarization in semiconductors using optical techniques. Ultrafast, spatially-resolved magneto-optical spectroscopy is used to monitor electron spin dynamics and the electrical generation of spin polarization in non-magnetic materials through spin-orbit coupling and the spin Hall effect. This research is relevant to the development of spin-based information processing devices.
