Scott Haselschwardt

Dr. Haselschwardt conducts research in experimental astro-particle physics to understand the nature of dark matter through its possible interactions with ultra-sensitive particle detectors. Much of this effort is centered around the LUX-ZEPLIN (LZ) dark matter experiment, located nearly a mile underground at the SURF laboratory in Lead, South Dakota, USA. The LZ detector deploys 7 tonnes of liquid xenon in the world’s most sensitive search for dark matter interactions and is actively collecting data that may reveal new information about dark matter, neutrinos, and other beyond-the-Standard Model physics.
