April is National Poetry Month, and the Kelsey Museum is joining with other U-M and Ann Arbor cultural institutions to celebrate. The monthlong event, called Poetry Blast, is spearheaded by U-M's Institute of the Humanities and seeks to highlight poetry's important place in our lives and to recognize how it can console and inspire us.
Over 30 "pop-up" poems now dot the landscape of Central Campus, including at the Kelsey. The connector windows between the Upjohn Wing and Newberry Hall display four poems from the ancient world: one each from the civilizations of Greece, Rome, Egypt, and Mesopotamia. More information about these timeless poems will be posted on our social media channels throughout the month—just search for @kelseymuseum on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter.
Visit the Poetry Blast homepage for more information and to download a map of all the pop-up poems on Central Campus.
