We are excited to announce the launch of the Kelsey Book Club. Designed to inspire conversation and community among individuals who share a passion for the ancient world and reading fiction, the book club welcomes Kelsey Museum docents and members, U-M students and staff, and community members to join us for lively discussions and shared explorations.

Our book selections span diverse genres and include exciting new releases as well as old favorites. Highlights include engaging novels such as Madeleine Miller’s Circe and Claire North’s Songs of Penelope trilogy—each offering a unique lens through which we can view Greek mythology and the ancient world, with a special focus on the stories of women.

The Kelsey Book Club will take place monthly on Thursday evenings (6:00–7:00 PM) throughout the academic year. Knowledgeable experts—including faculty members and graduate students from various U-M departments—will lead and moderate each discussion.

The first session is scheduled for September 26, 2024—advance registration is required. Please visit the book club web page to learn more about pricing, registration, and upcoming titles.
