The symposium "Graffiti in Ancient Nubia and Beyond," held on Friday, September 20, 2019, at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology, is now available to view on the Kelsey's YouTube channel. Nine scholars from around the world gathered at this half-day event to discuss graffiti in ancient and medieval Nubia and the broader Mediterranean region. The speakers explored a wide range of topics, including the idea of graffiti as a devotional practice and the challenges of documenting and preserving ancient graffiti, and discussed discoveries from archaeological projects in Sudan, Egypt, and Italy.

The symposium is presented in three parts. Visit our YouTube channel to view them all.
