This helmet was worn by David Steven Brown (1953–2006) during the 1974 Michigan football season. He went on to have a successful NFL career with the Pittsburgh Steelers (1975), Seattle Seahawks (1976–1986), and Green Bay Packers (1987–1989). After retiring from the field, Brown returned to the Seattle Seahawks to work as a coach and was eventually enshrined in the Seahawks Ring of Honor. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2007 and the University of Michigan Hall of Honor in 2010.
