Camp Kelsey

Campers climb on the “Daedelus” sculpture outside the U-M Museum of Art, June 2024.

Embark on an unforgettable journey at Camp Kelsey, a summer camp designed for middle schoolers (outgoing 5th through 7th graders) at the Kelsey Museum of Archaeology. Guided by the museum’s expert educators, campers take part in lively learning experiences including behind-the-scenes tours of the Kelsey, field trips around Ann Arbor, conversations with U-M faculty and staff, hands-on creative projects, and more.

Each weeklong session is centered around an exciting new theme, allowing participants to dive into such topics as culture, history, myth, and archaeology. Join us for a summer of exploration, imagination, and new friendships!

Watch this page for information on upcoming camp sessions.

Past Camp Kelsey Sessions

Our inaugural Camp Kelsey took place on June 24–28, 2024. Inspired by the Percy Jackson series and the ancient stories that inspired it, this writing camp provided attendees with a deep dive into Greek and Roman mythology.
