Collections Manager
About
Michelle Fontenot has been a Kelsey Museum collections manager since 2006. Born and raised in New Orleans, she earned a bachelor’s degree in geography from the University of New Orleans and a master’s degree in anthropology from Louisiana State University. Her fieldwork experience, focusing mainly on historic American archaeology, was gained through work in the Bahamas, the southeastern United States, and the upper Northwest. Michelle has worked at the federal, state, and local levels. Her museum background includes working for the Louisiana State Museum system for seven years and a brief time for the National Museum of Health and Medicine.
