On 20 and 21 October, Dutch studies instructors in North America met in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Taalunie colleague Karlijn Waterman visited the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor as part of this meeting.
Instructor Annemarie Toebosch, and Chief Administrator Sheri Sytsema-Geiger, spoke about the future of the Dutch program. Dutch at U-M has high student numbers thanks to the program that Annemarie Toebosch, together with her colleague Trui Moerkerke, is realizing by connecting Dutch studies to social themes such as decolonisation. In addition, they discussed the possibilities of extending the program to a minor and how the Taalunie can support this.
