The "Take a Germanic Department Faculty Member to Lunch" program offers undergraduate students an opportunity to enjoy a FREE lunch with a Germanic Department faculty member(s). This program is designed to foster community and give students an opportunity to get to know faculty members outside of the classroom.

Lunches can take place Monday through Friday during the fall or winter terms, and purchases are limited to $50 per lunch at campus locations below. Lunch gift cards are available on a first come/first served basis for one lunch per term.
How it works:
- Discuss with your classmates whom you want to invite
- Contact germandept@umich.edu to request the M|Dining gift card and to confirm it is still available.
- Set the time and place to meet up for lunch
- Pick up M|Dining gift card from 3106 MLB, you’ll need the names of all who’ll attend
- Redeem gift cards at all dining halls or:
- Shapiro Undergrad Library - Bert’s Café
- Michigan League - Maizie's Kitchen and Market
- Michigan Union - DeLuca's, Panda Express, Panera Bread, Subway, Sweetwaters Coffee & Tea, Qdoba
- Pierpont Commons– Fireside Café, Fireside Roast, Hibachi San, Mujo Café, Panda Express
- Duderstadt Center – Mujo Café
