Our class baked a German apple cake, which was a popular dessert throughout the 1920s, and continues to be baked often in the present 20's. A "1920's style" host describes the steps as well as each individual person. All of the ingredients as well as their measurements are listed in the video and each step is shown. The bakers are all dressed in "2020's styled" clothing to represent both centuries.

In our cooking show, named "Zucker and Salz", a contestant named Sofia will participate for the price of a trip to Berlin. The participant is asked to make any food that represents 1920 and 2020. Sofia decides to bake cakes/muffins. Throughout the video, Sofia explains her reasons for choosing to bake apple cake, schwarzwald cake, and marmor cake and how it fits the theme. In the explanation, it is revealed that her reasoning lies behind the ingredients of each cake and how they match the theme of each year, and the marmor cake represents the unity of both years. At the end of the video Sofia wins the price because she was the only participant.

My project is a cooking show comparing the culmination of development of German cuisine during the recessional period of the Weimar republic during the old 20's with a classic Bavarian recipe for a cheap but simple bread soup. To the modern 20's with a very popular dish, Chicken schnitzel with roasted potatoes. Proudly edited by Schs's talented editor Aubrianna leeps who did all of the recording and editing! and the translation and acting done by myself Collin Miner. We hope you enjoy the video! (and if you are so inclined taste these wonderful dishes as well!). P.S, As a personal note this has no bearing on the description but I would just like to take a moment to express how grateful I am, to be able to have an opportunity to embrace another culture and create a project displaying the great changes over time. Being able to do this shows that we as a people care about other cultures and that is something that has, and always will be something very close to my heart and I thank you for your willingness to hold this celebration each year.

Kate, the head chef, and her guests make a timeless German dish commonly prepared in the twenties, both 1920 and 2020. "Kartoffelsalat" und "Schnitzel" are paired perfectly together. The cooks go through the authentic recipes step by step so that viewers may follow along and learn how to cook these two delicious dishes.

A simple cooking show for a simple recipe. GutEssen (a play on the words gutes Essen) is a simple cobbled-together show demonstrating how to make Kartoffelpuffer. In it draws a comparison between the 1920s and 2020s and how they show similarities in antisemitism and other forms of discrimination. The message of the overall video is how we can be better at acknowledging our past in order to improve our future---especially by using food as the gateway to bridge the gap between different cultures.
