Susan Scott Parrish Receives James Russell Lowell Honorable Mention
Susan Scott Parrish has received an honorable mention in the competition for the MLA's James Russell Lowell Prize for her book The Flood Year 1927: A Cultural History. Professor Parrish's research addresses the interrelated issues of race, the environment, andknowledge-making in the Atlantic world from the seventeenth up through the mid-twentieth century, with a particular emphasis on southern and Caribbean plantation zones.
