Academic Advisor: Undergraduate Students
About
Bryna Worner is an Undergraduate Academic Advisor at the University of Michigan's International Institute. She advises current and prospective undergraduate students pursuing a major and/or minor in International Studies; Latin American and Caribbean Studies; Middle Eastern and North African Studies; Russian, Eastern European, and Eurasian Studies; Modern European Studies; and/or Islamic Studies. She is responsible for helping undergraduate students along their academic journey, guiding them in identifying their passions, and supporting students to advance toward their future goals. She was honored with the LSA Excellence in Departmental Advising Award in 2023. Bryna is currently pursuing her Master of Arts degree in Higher Education with a focus on Management and Organizations at the University of Michigan Marsal Family School of Education.
Previously, Bryna served as the Academic Program Specialist at the University of Michigan's International Institute for the Program in International and Comparative Studies and the Donia Human Rights Center and was responsible for public programming, communications, fellowships and funding for students, and a number of initiatives that greatly increased student and alumni engagement. She has been with the International Institute since November 2015. Prior to joining the University of Michigan, she held positions at Edelman in consumer public relations, The Wm. Wrigley Jr. Company in their global corporate affairs department, and The Chicago Council on Global Affairs in both the programs and communications departments. Bryna earned her Bachelor of Arts with a triple major in International Studies, Political Science, and Spanish from The University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and studied abroad in Salamanca, Spain.
