About
Hilal completed a BA in Translation and Interpretation at Hacettepe University and an MA in English Translation and Interpretation at Dokuz Eylül University. Her broad research areas include translation studies, film and media, critical race and gender studies, and migration and diaspora. Hilal is specifically interested in the (re)writing of intersectionality in women’s fiction, intersectional feminist translation, and the dynamics of manipulation and agency in literary translation practice. She plans to work in German and Turkish while improving her Italian to a research level. Beyond her work, Hilal enjoys running, solving sudoku, and sketching her memories.
